London, United Kingdom, May 2005 - Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust and West Suffolk Healthcare NHS Trust have both decided to implement MediSpeech from G2 Speech at their radiology departments. Dictated reports that come with the x-ray pictures will now be sent for transcription over the network to the Medical Secretaries workstations. With MediSpeech the departments are able to organize their work much more efficiently.

After the tender process, Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust chose MediSpeech from G2 Speech. Last month digital dictation was rolled out at the radiology department, which will be complimented with speech recognition later this year. Digital dictation compared to the analogue way of working results in an enormous efficiency gain. The logistical process of tapes being transported around the department is converted to a solely digital process, resulting in a lot of time saving. Medical specialists at Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust are also able to replay their reports instantly by telephone, which enables them to access all the reports at every location.

At West Suffolk Healthcare NHS Trust the radiology department was already used to the benefits of digital dictation. This hospital had been working with a competitive solution but found that G2 Speech had a superior solution for the present and the future requirements of the Trust coupled with improved service, which made the decision to change supplier very easy. Over 22 specialists and 6 secretaries at the radiology department have been working happily with MediSpeech since April this year.
