G2 Speech - Expert in speech recognition

Healthcare Computing 2006
New speech recognition solution makes healthcare documentation more flexible

London-based G2 Speech will unveil the new version of its MediSpeech reporting solution at Healthcare Computing, stand B4. The solution, powered by SpeechMagic from Philips, features advanced digital dictation and speech recognition features which aim to extend workflow flexibility in healthcare documentation.

This version, MediSpeech 4.1, features the new G2Dashboard, an application which displays system information and shows the number of dictations awaiting transcription or validation. The dictation list can be displayed to include just individual users, a group or the entire system. G2Dashboard alerts the user if certain values exceed a defined level, thus avoiding backlogs and time-delays. MediSpeech 4.1 also eases the administration of the reporting system, by optimising document management and routing, and allowing for simple installation and configuration of users, workstations, interfaces and groups.

MediSpeech 4.1 interfaces with various applications (RIS, EPR, etc.), enabling hospitals to implement a customised dictation and speech recognition solution for every department. This includes the definition of individual user rights to protect data privacy as well as a selection of validation workflows. If a report which has been transcribed in the backend process is re-edited by the author, it can then be easily re-routed back to the transcriptionist to implement changes.

“SpeechMagic provides cutting-edge speech recognition features which give us the flexibility to customise our reporting solution to the needs of every healthcare customer – be it a large NHS trust or an individual medical practice,” says Henry Gallagher, CEO, G2 Speech UK.
