Andy Barker is the Team Leader and Clinical Specialist for South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT). Andy has been using the G2 Speech solution now for around three months. He told us how he uses the systems speech recognition and digital dictation solutions to create patient records, emails and document creation. Typically Andy sees around 16 patients a day and with the use of our solution those appointments have been far more efficient.

Prior to investing in speech recognition the Trust were typing all documents. Andy discussed how the Trust decided to look at using speech recognition in the first instance to increase speed and efficiency in their working days. The Trust also looked at the solution for Occupational Health reasons such as repetitive strain injuries caused by typing.

He noted his experience of working with G2 staff as extremely good. He explained, “Staff have always been extremely helpful and approachable. I once had a problem with my SpeechMike and I was connected to an advisor in their Holland office and they managed to resolve the problem that day.”

Describing the implementation of the solution Andy said, “It was very straight forward and pain-free! The solution is highly impressive. It’s made my working life so much better. I can get things done so much quicker. I’ve managed to free up lots of time. I have already used it create countless emails and documents!”

Words of advice: When asked about whether he’d recommend our solutions Andy said, “Definitely! The solution will make your life easier. The efficiency savings are obvious. To anyone considering the software – do it! Swallow the front-end cost; it’ll make your life so much easier!”
