Helpdesk Analyst (UK)

Summary:
Global Company requires Helpdesk Analyst with experience in a PC helpdesk/desktop support role. You must have a solid track record of supporting various Windows Operating systems (incl XP, 2000, NT, 98SE), as well as good networking experience and knowledge of various IT infrastructures, as you will be exposed to a variety of client systems.
The position will consist of receiving external calls from customers and providing an effective support service. Maintaining/updating internal support notes. Maintaining a thorough understanding of product knowledge and new enhancements/programs.

Job Description:
Your main role will be to provide 1st line support for bespoke Digital Dictation and Speech Recognition applications. Tasks include verifying and solving problems, logging faults, sending out and updating releases of software, testing software, documentation, contacting customers by phone, completing reports and liaison with Application Consultants. You will provide support for both internal and external clients using the bespoke software.

The role will involve working in a Project team that deploys, supports and maintains the above applications. Other aspects of the role include installation and configuration of our software at client sites and internal IT support.

A wide skill set is required, not only are IT Support skills required but the role also includes participation in projects, ensuring faults are assigned and escalated and ensuring a high level of customer service at all times. Therefore previous client facing experience, in particular in the Legal and Medical markets would be advantageous.

Your personal skills should include strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to manage your time in order to hit tight deadlines combined with excellent client facing and communication skills. Candidates will work in a small team so need to be able to use their own initiative and must have ability to write technical documents, clear, concise and accurate English.

Key Skills:
You must have strong Windows XP and Windows 2000 support skills; background knowledge of Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98 SE would be advantageous.

Hardware experience is required in particular troubleshooting USB and Serial devices.

Networking and TCP/IP knowledge is required, remote access technologies (incl RAS and VPN), Windows 2000 / Windows 2003 Server knowledge is beneficial.

A working knowledge of MS SQL Server would also be useful.

Additional Skills:
Previous experience gained within either the legal or medical sectors would be highly advantageous.
Previous experience with Digital Dictation and Speech recognition technologies, in particular Digital dictation solutions from Olympus and Philips would be a bonus.

The position will consist of receiving external calls from customers and providing an effective support service. Undertaking specific projects, maintaining/updating internal support notes. Maintaining a thorough understanding of product knowledge and new enhancements/programs.

Not only are IT Support skills required but the role also includes participation in projects, advising on technical training, ensuring faults are assigned and escalated and ensuring a high level of customer service at all times. Therefore previous client facing experience, in particular in the Legal and Medical markets would be advantageous.
