The North West Independent Hospital is one of the longest established private hospitals in Northern Ireland. They have been delivering high quality healthcare since 1989 and work hard to maintain their impeccable reputation. G2 Speech started working with the North West Independent in July this year. Since then, we have worked together to reduce turnaround times by a third.
The hospital employs around 150 people to provide a wide range of services and treatments, ranging from outpatient medical and surgical consultations to simple surgical day case procedures. They decided to look for a digital dictation provider as their methods for creating patient documentation was becoming dated and unreliable.
Roger Brown, Technical Support at North West Independent Hospital said: “The logistics of using analogue tapes was becoming more and more unrealistic as the company was growing. These devices had to be physically transported to and from all of their points of use. This process also made the tapes more prone to loss and damage.”
He continued, “In the current digital age we embrace the importance of being able to back up data and access archived work quickly and effectively. We wanted to make the entire process from dictation to transcription more efficient and reliable. We wanted to provide our consultants with the latest technology in order to deliver an even better standard of care.”

- The sound quality is much clearer
- The G2 interface for both Authors and Transcribers is very user friendly
- All data is stored on the local server ensuring all historic data can be easily accessed

It’s still early days but the hospital has already noted significant efficiency savings. As we look to the future, we hope to further improve on those processes.
