Once again, G2 Speech was  present at the Digital Pathology Congress, which took place on Thursday 30 November and Friday 1 December 2017 in the London Heathrow Marriot Hotel, UK.

Held annually, the Digital Pathology Congress is a renowned conference which gathers a wide variety of attendees from both the corporate and academic sectors. It aims to understand the use of digital pathology as a tool for advancing pathology practice and enabling enhanced patient care.

We were present at this event presenting on the enhancements and upgrades of our digital dictation, speech recognition and workflow management  solutions, SpeechReport and SpeechReport Cursor; our solutions are available in the Cloud, via the Microsoft Azure platform.

Based on our attendance at the Digital Pathology Congress over the past couple of years, it’s obvious all aspects of pathology are becoming digitally advanced. However in comparison to most NHS departments, pathology is still quite a bit behind in terms of speech recognition, or digital solutions in general. Where pathology surpasses other departments, is the collection of international data. We’ve seen this from the linking of labs in Oxford & Helsinki, aiming to compare results when using ‘home made’ algorithms. They used the WebMicroscope AI training tool to teach the software to detect features of interest, such as epithelium segmentation in breast cancer tissue stains.

From Clinical Diagnostics to Quantitative Image Analysis, and everything in between, we feel speech recognition can help to improve every labs’ efficiency in routine.
